Senior Vice President, Director of Institutional Advisory Services
With nearly three decades of experience working with nonprofit organizations, Ellen Spong serves as Senior Vice President and Director of the Institutional Advisory Services team for Atlantic Union Bank Wealth Management. In this role, she advises nonprofit and institutional clients in the areas of asset management, governance, policy development, and nonprofit best practices.
Ellen holds leadership positions with a number of nonprofit organizations and industry associations. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Medical College of Virginia Foundation where she serves as Vice-Chair of the Investment Committee and Chair of the Strategic Planning Task Force, Past President and Director of the Virginia Gift Planning Council, and Foundation Division Chair of the St. Joseph’s Villa Campaign Executive Committee.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Virginia. Her credentials include being a member of LEAD Virginia’s Class of 2013 and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®).
She is a frequent speaker throughout the Mid-Atlantic and nationally on nonprofit topics including governance, policy development and fiduciary matters.
