Grow professionally

Discover your unique talents through strength assessments, participate in feedback sessions and collaborate on a group capstone project that is presented to the Executive Leadership Team. Other experiences include volunteering opportunities and custom workshops on personal branding and business etiquette.

Meaningful contributions

Work on meaningful initiatives that support customers and communities. Whether it's helping to craft a press release, working as a videographer or working alongside commercial banking professionals, you will be an active participant in our day-to-day work.

Gain an insider’s perspective to the financial services industry, understanding what daily life as a banking professional is all about. We offer internships in a wide range of departments, varying each year based on the line of business sponsoring the intern. Some of our recent internships include Human Resources, Marketing, Consumer Banking, Corporate Communications, Strategic Sourcing and more.

Program specifics

The award-winning Enterprise Internship Program runs for 10 weeks over the summer with opportunities throughout our footprint, but concentrated in our Cox Road, Richmond, Virginia headquarters. Our Enterprise Internship Program offers competitive compensation and an innovative experience designed to bridge the transition from college to career. Through thoughtfully curated programming such as training, mentoring, social events and volunteer days, we empower participants to build relevant skills and core competencies that prepare them to become future leaders in the financial services industry.

Who should apply

Juniors or seniors currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or students enrolled in a graduate program who are curious, collaborative and ready to learn – whether studying business, finance, economics, marketing or other majors that bring a fresh perspective to the table.

Great communication, attention to detail and a proactive mindset go a long way.

How to apply

We open the internship application process from mid-February through mid-March. Please check our Careers section during that time for the posted opportunities. You will be required to submit an application along with a resume. Selected candidates will be invited to interview and matched to teams where they can thrive.
