Chris Kaufman

Bio

With 25 years of experience in financial services, Chris is a seasoned Wealth Credit Manager at Atlantic Union Bank Wealth Management, who specializes in providing credit and loan solutions to high-net-worth clients. In this role, he works closely with Wealth Relationship Managers and Directors to support the credit needs of their clients while overseeing the credit function of the Wealth Banking Group. 

Chris’s professional journey began with a degree in Finance and a second degree in Economics from Virginia Tech. After graduating in 1999, he joined his predecessor bank, where he discovered his passion for credit and wealth banking. This focus led him to specialize in crafting creative solutions to meet the complex financial needs of his clients.

As a subject matter expert in credit and lending, Chris is particularly skilled at building strong, trust-based relationships with clients, ensuring their financial goals are met through tailored lending solutions. His clients value him not for a product, but for the relationships he fosters and the dedication he brings to solving their unique challenges.

Currently enrolled in the Consumer Bankers Association Executive Bank School, Chris is set to graduate in Summer 2025.

Chris is a Hokie through and through and loves all things Virginia Tech sports. He enjoys hanging out with his family doing anything from movie nights to week-long vacations. There’s no place he’d rather be than wherever his kids are.
