George knows investing. He also has a knack for empowering his clients with knowledge: “I can simplify some more difficult investment themes in a way that clients can understand.”
George joined Atlantic Union with the Access National merger in 2019 which included the Middleburg Trust Company, a subsidiary of Access National. He has over 50 years of experience in finance, credit analysis and investments. Most significant past positions include Chief Investment Officer of Middleburg Trust Company, fixed income portfolio management for Ridgeworth Capital Management, Inc. and Assistant State Treasurer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the early 1980s.
George is well regarded for his knowledge of municipal finance, the tax free bond business, and overall experience in fixed income markets.
He holds a B.A. from Washington & Lee University.
