Bio
With more than 21 years of experience in financial services, Philip leads the Virginia Peninsula Commercial Banking team at Atlantic Union Bank. He works closely with both new and existing clients to help businesses access capital, optimize cash management and improve operational efficiency.
Philip works with organizations across a range of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, nonprofit, health care, education and professional services. He partners with businesses of varying sizes, from small, locally owned companies to organizations with hundreds of millions in annual revenue.
Throughout his career, Philip has built a strong foundation across multiple areas of banking, including consumer lending, investment management and retail banking, before moving into commercial relationship management. He has completed formal credit training and developed expertise in treasury management, merchant services and broader financial strategy. Known for his disciplined approach, Philip takes time to understand each client’s operating model, financial position and long-term goals. He uses those insights to recommend strategies that support growth and strengthen capital structure, delivering timely, high-quality solutions.
Philip is passionate about empowering business owners with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. He believes strong banking relationships are built on trust, communication and a genuine understanding of the people behind the business. His goal is to serve as a long-term partner, not just a transactional resource.
He holds a Master of Public Administration from Arkansas State University and a Bachelor of Science from Morgan State University. He is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Pi Alpha Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Philip now resides in Williamsburg, Virginia, with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, fitness, studying philosophy, cooking and following financial markets.
