The 31st annual North American Sand Soccer Championships (NASSC) took over Virginia Beach June 6-8, bringing teams from around the globe to compete in what’s known as “the world’s largest celebration of beach sports culture”.
Atlantic Union Bank was proud to serve as the presenting sponsor, cheering on thousands of players who took to the sand with grit, energy and some serious skill. From youth brackets to the U.S. Open Pro matches, the competition was fierce and the vibes high—no matter what the skies had in store. Despite some brief bouts of rain, the players powered through chasing the 2025 NASSC title.
The Atlantic Union Bank tent offered a front-row view of the U.S. Open Pro field, welcoming customers and Teammates to kick back, catch elite matches and grab a refreshment or two. Our volunteers, customers and Teammates showed up in full force to support the games.
Held every summer in Virginia Beach, NASSC is the globe’s premier single-weekend sand soccer festival, with more than 800 soccer teams competing across all age groups and skill levels. The event also gives a boost to local businesses, with more than 100,000 people flocking to the beach for sand soccer weekend. Proceeds from the tournament support ongoing improvements at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex, ensuring future generations have a great place to play.
