Downtown Fredericksburg Revival

We’re proud to be playing a key role in the ongoing development of the historic downtown Fredericksburg area, including financing the construction of the recently opened Liberty Place. In addition to being the new home for Atlantic Union Bank’s local commercial and wealth teams, the 43,000 square-foot mixed-use building will also accommodate other business offices and food retailers on its ground level, including Mellow Mushroom, and Blue Cow Ice Cream.

“Liberty Place will bring new jobs, tax revenue and activity to the entryway of our beautiful historic downtown,” says Bill Freehling, Director of Fredericksburg’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism. “Our preliminary projections anticipate a significant amount of yearly revenue coming to the city from the Liberty Place commercial building alone.”

Our plans also include financing William Square, another new construction project which has yet to break ground that includes an apartment building, fitness center, and hotel next to Liberty Place. Both projects are helping revitalize downtown Fredericksburg, aligning with our goal of enriching the lives of the people and communities we serve.
