Focused on Financial Literacy

The READ Center is a Richmond area non-profit that believes that every person needs and deserves a literate life.  When they wanted to develop a breakthrough new curriculum to help their students obtain life-changing financial literacy skills, who do you think they turned to? Union, of course!

The 13-week program focuses on the 3 subjects that form the foundation of effective financial literacy:

  • Banking and Budget
  • Credit
  • Growing Your Money

Following the completion of the initial pilot program, teachers remarked that a majority of students significantly increased their financial literacy and that students found the experience “very positive.”

Our Teammates helped develop a pilot program that was such a success with Richmond-area students that it will soon be rolled out across Virginia in Spring 2019 as an online resource that any organization can use, free of charge.
