Bio

My interest in risk management has evolved over the years as I witnessed the impact and value solid risk management practices can bring to financial institutions. As Atlantic Union Bank continues to transform, strong risk management is essential to ensure that transformation includes appropriate controls, aligns with regulatory expectations, and successfully achieves the desired business objectives.  

I’m delighted to join Atlantic Union Bank as Chief Risk Officer, expanding my 30 years of experience in various risk, auditing and financial reporting roles. Most recently, I was Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for Amalgamated Bank. Previously as a Director at PwC, I provided risk consulting services to large, systematically important financial institutions. Prior to that, I spent 10 years with SunTrust Bank leading Internal Audit and Risk Management teams. 

My education includes a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University and a doctorate in business administration from Temple University. I’ve also achieved professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). 

Outside of work, I enjoy global travel and have been to 6 of the 7 continents with Australia being my favorite. I also enjoy watching a good NFL game or Premier League match on a Sunday afternoon.
