Grant Funding
Our top priorities for giving grants and donations to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) are to fund activities that: ensure community members have access to a safe and affordable place to call home, create and provide economic development opportunities and create initiatives that bring financial education to our communities to prepare people for healthier financial lives.
Serving our neighbors with financial education and economic empowerment is essential to the commitment we have to our communities. Therefore, our funding priorities are programs that serve historically excluded communities, focus on financial education, workforce development, and safe and affordable housing.
We offer two grant programs:
Atlantic Union Bank Community Impact Annual Grant
Any Community Based Organization serving areas within the Atlantic Union Bank footprint is eligible to apply for grant funding. Typical grant awards range from $2,000 - $10,000.
*Note: most first-year grant awards are between $2,000 and $5,000.
2025 Applications are closed. 2026 applications will open in February of 2026.

Future Impact Maker Intern Grant
This paid internship program is an initiative to support economic mobility and workforce development for low-to-moderate income students within the community-based sector. We grant 20-50 awards every year.

Local Event Sponsorship
Proud to support community based organizations through event donations. Including:
- Local fundraising events.
- Philanthropically-centered events where we can all come together, celebrate and make a difference in our local communities
Local Event Donation requests are processed on a rolling basis, funded at the local level, and may take 4 to 6 weeks for a response from the date of submission. If you have an event that you’re interested in us considering, please click on the link below and share more information.

VOLUNTEERISM
Investing in our communities
At Atlantic Union Bank, we focus on expanding our reach to better support and reflect our communities and it’s easy for our Teammates to get involved. All Teammates are allocated paid hours of volunteer time each year to support matters they truly care about – serving the communities where they live and work. Full-time Teammates receive 16 paid hours of volunteer time and part-time Teammates are eligible for 8 hours. Learn more about our Teammate benefits and various career opportunities.
We also encourage our Teammates to consider donating to a cause of their choice. In doing so, Atlantic Union Bank pledges to match charitable gifts up to $500 per Teammate.
In 2024, Atlantic Union Bank Teammates donated 12,942 volunteer hours to their communities.

Atlantic Union Bank has taken steps to become a greener, more environmentally friendly organization. We strive to support our ecosystem by initiating steps to ensure we are actively making changes now and for future generations. Our efforts include:
- Providing more recycling options at our corporate office locations
- Automating our HVAC units
- Reducing single-use plastics
- Installing Carbon neutral chairs in our offices and branches

Financial Education
Supporting financial education is more than good business—it's about giving people a gift that will last forever.
Since 2018, Atlantic Union Bank has reached over 18,200 students, 317 educators and 181 schools.
We partner with Banzai, an online financial literacy resource, to bring financial education into classrooms and communities we serve. Other tools we use to support financial wellness include our Bank Better articles, Solutions Banking Program, SavvyMoney, financial calculators and more.
Whether buying a home, planning for college, maintaining a budget or teaching your children the basics of managing money, we have resources to guide you to a healthier financial life.
