Atlantic Union Bank has taken steps to become a greener, more environmentally friendly organization. We know the critical importance of helping to heal and protect the environment, while helping to ensure a greener world for generations to come. We’re dedicated to supporting our ecosystem and have initiated steps to ensure we are actively making changes now and into the future.
Our efforts to become a more environmentally friendly company include providing more recycling options at our corporate office locations, automating our HVAC units, reducing single-use plastics and installing carbon-neutral chairs in our offices and branches, reducing the use of energy, wood and water, greenhouse gases and solid waste.
As a company, we strive to practice green vibes every day, but we take it a step further by choosing to partner with community-based organizations (CBOs) who mirror our values and commitment to the planet. One CBO we partner with is Blue Sky Fund, a youth development non-profit that provides transformational experiences for Richmond area youth through outdoor education. Blue Sky takes students from elementary to high school to places like the James River and Pocahontas State Park to gain a better appreciation for the outdoors and help them be more connected to their surrounding environment. Blue Sky Fund was awarded a Future Impact Makers Internship Sponsorship Grant that allows them to hire summer interns with funds provided by us so they can keep fulfilling their mission. This in turn allows them to provide young adults with an expanded professional network and work experience.
We remain committed to continuing to evolve our Green Vibes Program each year through partnerships, using more environmentally friendly supplies and implementing strategies that make reducing, reusing and recycling a more attainable reality for our teammates and local communities.
