The Boys & Girls Clubs of America have historically been pillar organizations in our communities, offering safe havens for boys and girls and essential programs to help support families. The Southeast Virginia chapter is no exception. They have been serving Hampton Roads’ young people with educational and fitness initiatives, leadership training, and recreation since 1919.
In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, they switched to us for their banking needs and, specifically, to help them secure a Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan.
“When COVID-19 struck, Atlantic Union Bank was there for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia,” recalls Adrianna Rivera, Chief Development Officer. “They walked us through the PPP process and helped us get the loan that enabled our doors to stay open so we could continue providing critical services for families in the area.” Thankfully, as many businesses hope to get back to normal in the coming months, things are also looking a lot brighter for service and community organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia.
We’re proud to have recently assisted many businesses through challenging times and thankful that our Relationship Managers, like Alvin Payne, could offer the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia a helping hand. Adds Ms. Rivera, “Alvin makes us his priority. He’s the kind of person that cares about his community and that means a lot.”
