In 2021, the University Club of Virginia Tech wanted to bring a dynamic space to life in Lane Stadium that had remained idle over the past two years.
“With the bank’s long history of working with the community,” said Ali Halatayi, General Manager of the Club, “we knew they would be able to put a financing structure into place that addressed not only our unique requirements, but also those of the university.”
Today, it’s a hub where fans, members and the Blacksburg community come together. There's always something interesting and inviting going on, including business clubs, member events and fun celebrations. Better yet, it’s fueled by the finest of food, spirits, and the comradery that only comes from friends and colleagues.
However, it wasn’t always this way.
Constructed in 1964, Lane Stadium experienced its biggest addition in 2003, with the inclusion of 23 luxury suites, a new press box and club seating. The President’s Club, located on the 4th floor, was part of that expansion. It sat idle most days of the year, excluding home football games, which would set the stage for Ali Halatayi and Atlantic Union Bank to transform the space some 20 years later.
“Nathan Hockersmith at Atlantic Union Bank served as a true partner,” Mr. Halatayi exclaimed, “as he was able to put into place a structure that worked for all the parties involved despite several complexities.”
According to Mr. Halatayi, their business is simple. It’s about people, forming relationships and connecting with them in a variety of environments. Their focus is on extending a premier experience to all members with a warm welcome, magic moments and fond farewells.
At Atlantic Union Bank, our focus is about providing all the business banking solutions to ensure they fulfill their mission.
