Atlantic Union Bank leader recognized for regional impact and civic leadership.
Congratulations to Jay O’Brien, President of the Greater Washington and Maryland Region and Integration Executive, for being named to The Daily Record’s 2025 Power 100 list! The recognition highlights his more than 25 years of experience in regional and community banking, where he’s known for building strong client relationships and driving sustainable growth.
Before joining Atlantic Union Bank, Jay spent 18 years at Sandy Spring Bank, where he led both Commercial and Consumer Banking. His strategic leadership continues to shape the bank’s success across Maryland and Greater Washington.
Beyond banking, Jay is deeply involved in civic and philanthropic efforts. He serves on George Mason University’s (GMU) President’s Advisory Cabinet and co-founded its National Leadership Council. He previously chaired GMU’s Board of Trustees.
