BioTom Lira brings over 35 years of lending experience to Atlantic Union Bank and has closed over 2,000 home loans in his professional career. He’s passionate about assisting people in realizing their dreams and ambitions of homeownership. He believes that is an incredible vehicle to acquire financial strength, while being the touchstone and anchor for his clients and their families. Tom has been active in community reinvestment for years and views his career as a way of giving back to the local area.
Tom graduated from Norfolk Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree from Campbell University and has a lengthy history of President’s and Chairman’s Club accomplishments from his time working with other financial institutions throughout the years.
When he isn’t working, Tom is a great outdoorsman. A lover of the water, Tom is passionate about sailing, racing and cruising, has been active on a variety of yachting committees over the years, and has either placed in or won numerous sailing regattas. He’s an environmentalist who loves gardening. Tom also organizes a large annual “Clean the Bay” event where adults and juniors come together to embrace environmental stewardship of their waterways.
